How well do the Radeon RX 6750 XT and i5-11400F match?
Pairing at a glance
- Assessment
- Balanced
- Primary limitation
- No relevant bottleneck
- Best Use Cases
- 1080p High: Slight CPU limit · 1440p High: Recommended resolution · 4K Medium: GPU-limited
- Confidence
- Not quantitatively validated; directional assessment, not a measurement of this pairing
- Key assumption
- Game, memory, drivers and cooling have not been individually checked
Editorial assessment; not a measured pairing benchmark. Methodology
A budget-conscious 1440p combination. The RX 6750 XT brings 12 GB of VRAM and therefore ages better than comparable 8 GB cards. The i5-11400F is no record holder, but matches the card well in performance.
Expected frame rates
| Resolution | Frame rate | Assessment |
|---|---|---|
| 1080p High | 110–150 FPS | Slight CPU limit |
| 1440p High | 80–110 FPS | Recommended resolution |
| 4K Medium | 45–60 FPS | GPU-limited |
Reference values for current AAA titles without upscaling unless stated otherwise. Real values depend on the game, settings and cooling.
Basis for the assessment: published manufacturer specifications and public benchmark hierarchies, applied to this pairing – TechPowerUp GPU Database, Tom's Hardware GPU Hierarchy, ComputerBase GPU Benchmarks.
Strengths
- 12 GB VRAM – textures rarely need reducing
- Very good value at 1440p
- FSR 3 can be retrofitted even in older titles
Weaknesses
- Ray tracing remains a weakness of the RDNA 2 generation
- The 11400F has poor efficiency and little headroom
Optimal memory speed for this CPU
Intel Core i5-11400F · LGA1200 (DDR4)
2× 16 GB DDR4-3200 CL16, XMP enabled
Comet Lake and Rocket Lake run up to DDR4-3200 in Gear 1, where controller and memory share the same clock. Above that Rocket Lake switches to Gear 2 and the added latency eats the higher data rate – DDR4-3600 is often slower in games than 3200 in Gear 1. On B460 chipsets memory speed is capped outright and XMP has no effect.
VRM note (power delivery)
The 8- and 10-core parts of this generation draw 200–250 W at full load, which is a lot for LGA1200. On cheap B460 boards without VRM heatsinks that means permanently lower clocks; a Z490/Z590 board with cooled power stages keeps performance stable.
Sensible upgrades
More cores on the same board if no new build is planned.
Fixes streaming stutter in large game worlds.

Frequently asked questions
RX 6750 XT or RTX 4060?
For pure raster performance and VRAM, the RX 6750 XT. If DLSS, ray tracing and low power draw matter more to you, the RTX 4060.
Is the i5-11400F a bottleneck?
Hardly at 1440p, slightly at 1080p with high refresh rates. For 60–100 FPS the combination is unproblematic.
